My name is
Natalya Nikolskaya, I live in St-Petersburg, Russia and I’m an owner
of a small kennel of Yorkshires.
I’ve been
involved with dogs since long ago. At first I bred Harlequin Great
Danes and the name of my kennel goes to the name of my famous
English imported Great Dane Helmlake Exposed.
I registered
my kennel name in 1997, unfortunately it was registered with petty
mistakes in spelling but it is now the old wives stories.
I’ve got
quite an experience in breeding due to a relatively long time of
breeding, but I can say about myself that I’ve still been learning –
it is the process that goes all the life through, I’m learning with
each my litter which in fact are quite rare. I prefer to let not so
many puppies in the world to be sure to find right houses for them
I bought my
first yorkie in 2002 and fall completely under spell of those magic
creatures, Their fantastic exterior goes along with strong
personalities – they are real dogs though very small. My first
yorkie had the kennel name Smilain and the pedigree was the
combination of very strong bloodlines – those of Durrer’s and
Majodian.
Now I do
have at home only 5 yorkshire terriers, including the retired dog. I
don’t have the so called “dogs just for breeding “ – all my dogs
are multichampions, they take part in the most prestigious shows –
World and European Championships, International Shows and
Specialties. They are always on the run, always in placement in big
shows. There are very few dogs in my kennel, but they are holders
of nearly 30 CACIBs, more than 60 champion titles. So I can say
that my slogan “A small kennel of great champions” really has come
true.
If to speak
about breeding I try to be very choosy and careful. I have produced
by now not so many puppies and only quality matters. First of all I
consider structure, coat – on the second. I keep size and like good
heads. Well, it sounds perfect – but you can never gain it all
simultaneously, unfortunately. And I think that the first priority –
healthy temperamental sound dogs, which make their owners happier
and their life easier.
